Friendship Friends play an important part in our lives,and although we may take friendship for granted,we often dont clearly understand how we make friends.While we get on well with a number of people,we are usually friends with only a very few----for example,the average among students is about 6 per person.In all the cases of friendly relationships,two people like one another and enjoy being together.but beyond that,the degree of intimacy between them and the reasons for the shared interests vary enormously.As we get to know people we take into account things like age,race ,economic conditions,social position,and intelligence.Although these factors are not of prime importance,it is more difficult to get on with people when there is a marked difference in age and background.
Some friendly relationships can be kept on argument and discussion,but it is usual for close friends to have similar ideas and beliefs,to have attitudes and interests in commen ---they often talk about being on the same wavelength .it generally takes time to reach this point.And the more intimately involved people become,the more they rely on one another .people want to do friends favours and hate to break a promise.Equally,friends have to learn to put up with annoying habits and try to tolerate differencesof opinion.In contrast with marriage ,there are no friendship ceremonies to strengthen the association between two persons.But the supporting and understanding of each other that results from shared experiences and emotions does seem to a powerful bond ,which can overcome differences in background ,and break down barriers of age, class or race.

友誼在我們的生活中扮演著重要的角色，雖然我們可以把友誼視為理所當(dāng)然，我們常常不清楚如何交朋友。雖然我們與很多人相處很好，我們通常只有極少數(shù)的例如----朋友，學(xué)生平均每人約為6，友好關(guān)系的情況下，兩個(gè)人互相喜歡和享受可除此之外，他們的共同利益的'原因之間的親密程度差異很大，因?yàn)槲覀冎牢覀儠?huì)考慮對方的年齡、種族、經(jīng)濟(jì)條件、社會(huì)地位和智力。雖然這些因素不是最重要的，它是更難以與人相處時(shí)，有一個(gè)標(biāo)志年齡和背景差異。
一些友好關(guān)系在論據(jù)和討論可以被保留，但它通常都有著相近的思想和信念的親密朋友，有態(tài)度和興趣他們經(jīng)常談?wù)撛谕粋�(gè)波長。一般需要時(shí)間到達(dá)這一點(diǎn)，人變得更親密，他們更依賴另一個(gè)。人們想要做朋友厚待，憎惡背信棄義。同樣，朋友之間要學(xué)會(huì)忍受惱人的習(xí)慣，試著去容忍差異與婚姻，友誼沒有儀式來加強(qiáng)兩人的關(guān)系。但支持和相互理解，共同的經(jīng)歷和情感的結(jié)果S似乎是一個(gè)強(qiáng)大的紐帶，它可以克服背景差異，打破障礙的年齡，階級或種族。
